There’s many fine towns around us, in this border land sae fair
They always jest, that they’re the best, no others can compare
But there’s one auld town, who wears the crown, it’s a bonny wee town indeed
This fine auld town, this Kelso town, she’s the jewel upon the tweed
 
Past friars haugh and cobby banks, the river will stately glide
Past ednam house and junction pool, and down by mayfield side
Past springwood park, and rennie’s arc, and hogarth’s auld mill leid
They’re parts o’ this town, this Kelso town, the jewel upon the tweed
 
We have a square, and upon the fair, st james was thought tae pass
We’ve cobbled streets, where people meet, and many a bonny young lass
And the lads are strong, and memories long, and whenever you’re in need
They’ll gather round, in Kelso town, the jewel upon the tweed
 
So all day long, we’ll sing this song, and think of happy days
In shedden park, where children lark, and tree tops gently sway
We’re sometimes sad, but our hearts are glad, i’m sure we’re all agreed
