Welcome to the website of the
"Kelso Laddies Association"
Kelso Civic Week 2022 is GO
At an earlier meeting of the General Committee it was agreed to continue with the planning for a
Kelso Civic Week as normal on 17th – 23rd July 2022.
However we will be guided at all times by the Government or Scottish Borders Council
in relation to Covid restrictions.
At all times we will respect the safety of our community.
We look forward to meeting you all again this summer.
It all Starts Here!
Our first event of the season was a very important one,
being the declaration of our 2022 Kelso Laddie.
Each year a young man from the town is selected by the Ex Kelso Laddies to lead the celebrations and activities during Civic Week as our "Kelso Laddie" he will also represent the town at all the other border festivals through the summer. Our Kelso Laddie elect has had a long hang on
since learning he was the choice of the Ex Kelso Laddies back in 2020.
The Kelso Laddie for 2022 was declared in Kelso Square on Friday 15th April
in front of a well attended crowd of townspeople and visiting principals.

The Kelso Laddies Association are saddened to learn of the passing of our 1962 Kelso Laddie Angus Balden. We offer our sincere condolences to Angus’s family at this sad time. “Ride On Kelso Laddie Ride On”
As we all wish each other a Happy New Year we ended 2021 on a sad note with the passing of Brian Lang, Brian was part of Civic Week for many years as the " KL Driver"
As we remember the fallen at the war memorial service we also remember our 2016 Kelso Laddie Ian (Splodge) Whellans who died in a farm accident on this day 2018. More details
